Cavalier Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of Bjorn Skaarup's sculpture at Cavalier Gallery in New York, in celebration of the artist's public exhibition at Pershing Square. Featured in the exhibition are many of his iconic Hippo Ballerina sculptures in different poses, as well a selection of other fantastical and charming animal sculptures. Skaarup's works are informed by his art historical background and are imbued with a sense of playfulness and wonder. Sculptures such as Majestic Lion, a lion wearing a crown mounted atop a rocking horse and Emperor Penguin, penguins dressed in robes reminiscent of Ancient Roman emperors, exemplify the artists creativity and sense of humor.
