Think Big

January 26, 2016 - The Greenwich Girl, the Magazine

For years, visitors to Greenwich Avenue are met on the last block by a statue of a man looking up toward the sky outside of The Cavalier Gallery. Us GG’s pass him almost every day while we’re running around town and wondered what his significance was. We decided to visit the gallery it faces to get the inside scoop.

The statue of the man is part of a larger initiative called the Think Big Project. Run by businessman turned sculptor, Jim Rennert, the TBP focuses on inspiring those who are struggling to think bigger and to constantly work to achieve their goals. While the Greenwich Sculpture may seem large, it is minute in comparison to its parent, which stands at 12 feet tall. The Greenwich Statue is the last remaining mock up of the full size statue and has called the Avenue home for about 4 years. The full size sculpture travels around the country, making stops at different locations. Right now, it’s located at located at The Anthem
222 E 34th St New York, NY 10016. You can follow the full size statue via a live webcam stream.

Learn more about the project here and be sure to stop by the next time you’re strolling the ave!
