In Memoriam: Nina Maguire (1933–2023)

Nina Iannotti Maguire, 90 of Harrison NY, peacefully passed away on September 17, 2023 with her family present. Nina was predeceased by her beloved daughter Elizabeth Maguire and devoted husband Arthur Thomas. She is survived by her 3 children Arthur (Mary) of East Quogue, NY; James (Francine) of Yonkers, NY and Regina (Kevin) of New Rochelle. Nina was blessed with 9 Grandchildren who loved her dearly, Matthew, Kristen, Lizzie, Kaylee, Caitlin, Teagan, Finn, Pierce and Paige.
Nina was a prolific working artist and her contributions to the Art Community are broadly acknowledged. Nina was a member of the American Artists Professional League (Fellow Maxima Cum Laude), International Society of Acrylic Painters, Hudson Valley Art Association, New York Artists Equity, Mamaroneck Artists’ Guild, National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic and the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club.
One of Nina’s greatest passions was providing opportunities for women to pursue their educational and artistic passions and she established the Nina Iannotti Maguire ’51 Scholarship at The Ursuline School.
